2023 Northeast Conference Fall Gathering

The C/SIS Women of the ELCA Northeast Conference Fall Gathering was held on October 14 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Pontiac. The theme verse for the gathering was 1 Peter 4:10: “As each has received a gift, employ it for one another, as good stewards of God’s every grace.”

Following breakfast provided by the women of the host congregation, a presentation on being called to serve was given by Marcia Buchs, who serves in synod-authorized ministry as an interim minister at St. Paul. Describing her call to serve, she encouraged us all to think about our own calls to service and how we can serve others doing things we enjoy.

Conference representative Bobbi Thomas reported on her experiences at the Triennial Convention in Phoenix and the synod gathering in Mt. Olive. Other women in attendance reported on the number of quilts their congregations made for Lutheran World Relief.

The Northeast Conference Gathering took a physical offering of paper products to be donated to Livingston County Community Pantry, and a monetary offering of almost $400 was divided between ELCA Lutheran Disaster Response and the C/SIS Women of the ELCA.
