The Northeast Conference of the Central/Southern Illinois Synod Women of the ELCA will hold its spring gathering on Saturday, April 11, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 307 West Weldon Street, Roberts. The cost is $10 per person and includes lunch. Registration starts at 9:00 a.m., and the program begins at 9:30 a.m.
The theme for the day is “Called to Serve with Compassion,” based on Galatians 5:13 — “Serve one another humbly in love.”
Financial offerings will be divided between the Central/Southern Illinois Synod Women of the ELCA and Harbor House of Kankakee, a shelter for survivors of domestic abuse. Physical offerings of travel size items for hygiene kits (e.g., deodorant, shampoo, body wash, mouth wash) will also be giving to Harbor House.
Pat Caley, president of the C/SIS Women of the ELCA, will join us with updates on the organization, displays, and handouts. She will also bring Fair Trade items for purchase.
